3 Day Kakadu Tour – Camping $800

3 Day Kakadu Camping Tour Itinerary

Explore the best parts of Kakadu aboard a custom-built 4WD during day, then bed down at night amongst the peaceful surroundings of our safari camp within the national park.

Day One (Lunch & Dinner)

The tour starts early on day one as we meet the group and head out to Kakadu National Park from Darwin. Our first stop is a wildlife spotting cruise on the Corroboree Billabong where we’ll observe crocodiles and view some of the hundreds of different bird species that call the area home. After the cruise, we’ll enjoy a nice lunch amongst the trees on the banks of the East Alligator River where we can hopefully spot some more crocodiles and possibly even flying foxes.

After lunch, we dive into the local Aboriginal culture with a visit to Ubirr Rock. Here your guide will share the meaning and history behind some of the best examples of Aboriginal rock art in Australia, before we hike to the top of Ubirr for amazing views over the Nardab floodplains below. As the sun begins to sink, we’ll make our way to our safari camp at Mardukal Billabong where we’ll tuck into some dinner and relax around the campfire.

Day Two (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Enjoy breakfast amongst the trees before we jump in the 4WD and make our way to Jim Jim Falls. Kakadu’s tallest waterfall is located at the end of short hike through lush vegetation surrounded by the towering gorge walls on either side. Once we arrive, enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool waters of the plunge pool or chill out on the sandy beach and admire the incredible scenery that surrounds you.

After lunch, we’ll appreciate the rock art at Nourlangie Rock and be amazed by the views from the Gunwhardewharde lookout. We’ll escape the afternoon heat by heading inside to the Warradjan Cultural Centre where you can make your way around the interactive displays to learn more about the fascinating history and culture of Kakadu. In the evening, we head back to camp at Mardukal Billabong where you can relax under the incredible night sky of Kakadu, spotting satellites and shooting starts before falling asleep to the tranquil sounds of nature.

Day Three (Breakfast & Lunch)

Our third and final day starts off with a short walk through the monsoon forest to arrive at Maguk (Barramundi Gorge). Enjoy an invigorating swim in the pristine waters or try to spot some native wildlife as you relax on the beach. After lunch, we’ll make our way to Kakadu’s own natural infinity pool at Gunlom Falls. Take a dip in the plunge pool and be amazed by the stunning views out over the southern part of Kakadu. Soak up the views and magic of Kakadu one last time before we head back to Darwin, arriving in the evening.

Note: Due to the nature of the Top End, our 3 Day Kakadu tour itinerary is subject to change. We keep our itineraries are flexible and it may not be possible to visit some of the attractions as listed here. Your guide will take into account different factors including water levels, weather conditions, and road closures to plan a tour and ensure we give you the best possible experience, providing you with a suitable alternative if some locations are inaccessible. If you are booking this tour specifically to visit a certain location, please advise us by writing in the notes section when you make the booking.
